Research and Writing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on New Mexico laws concerning liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters related to personal injury and premises liability cases.

• Track and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court regulations.

• Prepare motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.

• Draft legal analysis related to discovery and assist with pleadings.

• Work in collaboration with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and enhance case positions.

• Offer research support for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparation.

• Provide timely, thoroughly supported written materials that adhere to the firm's quality standards.

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure the efficient progression of cases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active license to practice law in New Mexico, or be eligible for admission.

• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and writing are essential.

• Ability to transform research findings into compelling, well-supported documents.

• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and various other litigation documents is required.

• Experience in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred.

• A background in insurance defense or appellate work is advantageous.

• Ability to work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across multiple case teams is necessary.

• Ability to handle competing deadlines effectively.
