This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct research on New Mexico laws regarding liability, damages, coverage, and procedural issues related to personal injury and premises liability cases.
• Keep track of and summarize updates in New Mexico's case law, statutes, and court regulations.
• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Create legal analyses related to discovery and assist with pleadings as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues, anticipate defense arguments, and strengthen case strategies.
• Provide research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial readiness.
• Produce timely, well-supported written materials that adhere to the firm’s quality standards.
• Partner with attorneys and staff to ensure efficient progression of cases through the legal process.
• Offer legal analysis and drafting support to bolster trial attorneys’ advocacy efforts and enhance client recovery.
• Must possess an active license to practice law in New Mexico, or be eligible for admission.
• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and writing are essential.
• Capable of converting research findings into compelling, well-supported drafts.
• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and various litigation documents is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with personal injury or civil litigation experience.
• A background in insurance defense or appellate work is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads across several case teams is important.
• Must be able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• $25,000 sign-on bonus, distributed incrementally over the first 6 months of employment.
