This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct research on New Mexico laws regarding liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters related to personal injury and premises liability cases.
• Keep track of and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court rules pertinent to the firm’s operations.
• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Create legal analyses related to discovery and assist with pleadings as necessary.
• Work in conjunction with trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal challenges, foresee defense strategies, and enhance case positions.
• Offer research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparation.
• Produce timely and well-supported written outputs that align with the firm’s quality expectations.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to facilitate the efficient progression of cases.
• Provide legal analysis and drafting to support trial attorneys' advocacy and optimize recovery for injured clients.
• Must hold an active law license in New Mexico or be eligible for admission.
• Proficient in legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Capable of converting research findings into persuasive and well-supported documents.
• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents is essential.
• Background in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred.
• Experience in insurance defense or appellate work is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across various case teams.
• Strong capability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Sign-on bonus: $25,000 paid incrementally over the first 6 months of employment.
