This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct research on New Mexico laws regarding liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters in personal injury and premises liability cases.
• Track and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court regulations.
• Prepare motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Draft legal analyses related to discovery and assist with pleadings.
• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to recognize legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and fortify case positions.
• Provide research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparations.
• Produce timely and well-supported written materials that meet the firm's quality standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to streamline case progress.
• Possession of an active law license in New Mexico, or eligibility for admission.
• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Capability to convert research findings into compelling, well-supported drafts.
• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
• Preference for candidates with personal injury or civil litigation experience.
• A background in insurance defense or appellate law is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads across various case teams.
• Proficiency in managing competing deadlines.
• Sign-on bonus: $25,000 paid incrementally over the first 6 months of employment.
