Research and Writing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on New Mexico laws regarding liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters related to personal injury and premises liability.

• Track and summarize changes in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court regulations.

• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.

• Create discovery-related legal analyses and assist with pleadings.

• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to pinpoint legal issues and foresee defense arguments.

• Provide research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparation.

• Produce timely, well-supported written materials that align with the firm’s quality standards.

• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to advance cases efficiently through the legal process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active law license in New Mexico or eligibility for admission.

• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and writing.

• Capability to convert research into persuasive and well-supported drafts.

• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.

• Preferred background in personal injury or civil litigation.

• Insurance defense or appellate experience is an advantage.

• Ability to collaborate with trial attorneys and Team Leads across various case teams.

• Competence in managing overlapping deadlines.
