This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct research on New Mexico law concerning liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters related to personal injury and premises liability cases.
• Track and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court procedures.
• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Create legal analyses related to discovery and assist with the preparation of pleadings.
• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to pinpoint legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and enhance case strategies.
• Provide research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial readiness.
• Produce timely and well-supported written materials that adhere to the firm's quality standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to facilitate the efficient progression of cases through the legal process.
• Must possess an active license to practice law in New Mexico, or be eligible for admission.
• Excellent legal research, analysis, and writing abilities are essential.
• Capability to transform research findings into compelling and well-supported drafts.
• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and various litigation documents is required.
• Prior experience in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred.
• Background in insurance defense or appellate work is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across different case teams.
• Strong skills in managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Sign-on bonus of $25,000, distributed incrementally over the initial six months of employment.
