Research and Writing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on New Mexico laws concerning liability, damages, coverage, and procedural aspects in personal injury and premises liability cases.

• Track and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court rules.

• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for pre-litigation and litigation teams.

• Create discovery-related legal analyses and assist with pleadings.

• Work closely with trial attorneys and Team Leads to pinpoint legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and enhance case positions.

• Offer research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparation.

• Produce prompt, well-supported written work that adheres to the firm’s quality standards.

• Cooperate with attorneys and staff to facilitate the efficient progression of cases through the process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current license to practice law in New Mexico or eligibility for admission.

• Proficient legal research, analysis, and writing capabilities.

• Competence in converting research into compelling, well-supported drafts.

• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.

• Preferred background in personal injury or civil litigation.

• Insurance defense or appellate experience is advantageous.

• Capable of collaborating with trial attorneys and Team Leads across various case teams.

• Ability to handle competing deadlines effectively.
