Research and Writing Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Conduct research on New Mexico laws pertaining to liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters in personal injury and premises liability cases.

• Track and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court regulations.

• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for both pre-litigation and litigation teams.

• Create legal analyses related to discovery and provide assistance with pleadings.

• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to identify legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and enhance case strategies.

• Offer research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparations.

• Produce timely, well-supported written materials that adhere to the firm's quality standards.

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure cases progress efficiently through the legal process.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active license to practice law in New Mexico or be eligible for admission.

• Strong skills in legal research, analysis, and writing are essential.

• Capability to convert research findings into persuasive and well-supported drafts.

• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and various litigation documents is required.

• Experience in personal injury or civil litigation is preferred.

• Background in insurance defense or appellate work is advantageous.

• Ability to work collaboratively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across different case teams.

• Competence in managing multiple deadlines effectively.
