This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct research on New Mexico law regarding liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters related to personal injury and premises liability.
• Keep track of and summarize changes in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court procedures.
• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Prepare legal analyses related to discovery and assist with drafting pleadings.
• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to pinpoint legal issues, foresee defense strategies, and enhance case strengths.
• Offer research support for settlement talks, mediation, and trial readiness.
• Produce timely, well-supported written outputs that adhere to firm quality standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to facilitate efficient case progression.
• Provide legal analysis and drafting that bolster trial attorneys’ advocacy for clients who have been injured, aiming to maximize case results.
• Must possess an active license to practice law in New Mexico, or be eligible for admission.
• Demonstrated strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities.
• Capability to convert research findings into compelling, well-supported documents.
• Proven experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
• Preference for candidates with experience in personal injury or civil litigation.
• Background in insurance defense or appellate work is an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across various case teams.
• Capacity to manage multiple deadlines efficiently.
• Sign-on bonus: $25,000 disbursed incrementally over the first 6 months of employment.
