This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Conduct research on New Mexico laws related to liability, damages, coverage, and procedural matters in personal injury and premises liability cases.
• Keep track of and summarize updates in New Mexico case law, statutes, and court regulations.
• Draft motions, responses, briefs, and legal memoranda for pre-litigation and litigation teams.
• Prepare legal analysis related to discovery and assist with pleadings as necessary.
• Work alongside trial attorneys and Team Leads to pinpoint legal issues, foresee defense arguments, and enhance case positions.
• Offer research assistance for settlement discussions, mediation, and trial preparations.
• Produce timely, well-substantiated written outputs that adhere to the firm’s quality standards.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure the efficient progression of cases through the legal process.
• Provide legal insights and drafting to support trial attorneys' advocacy efforts and maximize client recovery.
• Must hold an active license to practice law in New Mexico, or be eligible for admission.
• Proficient in legal research, analysis, and writing.
• Capable of transforming research into compelling, well-supported written drafts.
• Experience in drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and various litigation documents is essential.
• Preference for candidates with personal injury or civil litigation experience.
• A background in insurance defense or appellate work is advantageous.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with trial attorneys and Team Leads across multiple case teams.
• Skilled in managing competing deadlines.
• A sign-on bonus of $25,000, distributed incrementally over the first six months of employment.
