This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Regularly propose innovative and engaging story ideas
• Cultivate sources to uncover news and generate exclusive content
• Write with clarity and adhere to deadlines
• Collaborate with team members within the department and the broader newsroom to brainstorm story ideas and identify the most effective storytelling methods
• Investigate storytelling formats that go beyond conventional approaches
• Engage in Globe subscriber events
• Collaborate with reporters in bureaus nationwide on business, politics, and national news coverage
• Report on Saskatchewan issues such as climate policy, Indigenous rights, relations with Ottawa, and the U.S. trade war
• Minimum of five years of experience in reporting for a news organization
• Passion and background in covering politics and business
• Ability to effectively narrate stories in Saskatchewan that appeal to audiences beyond the province
• Exceptional writing skills with a versatile range, including hard news, human-interest features, and explanatory pieces
• Strong news judgment demonstrated through a history of enterprise reporting
• Proficient in working across various formats, including live blogs, newsletters, video, and audio
• Based in Regina
• Willingness to travel regularly for assignments
• Submission of a cover letter with three links to previous work along with a resume authored by the candidate, not AI
