
Reinsurance Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska.
• Prepare and evaluate quarterly, semi-annual, and annual financial statements for around 50 reinsurance companies.
• Record and assess accounting activities, including cash transactions, accruals, reconciliations, investments, and various financial transactions.
• Prepare and review tax returns and supporting schedules for designated reinsurance entities.
• Complete tax-related filings, elections, correspondence, payments, and analyses, including specialized reporting obligations.
• Prepare regulatory filings related to domicile and licensing.
• Collaborate with Distribution and Client Wealth teams to assess company performance and create shareholder financial reviews.
• Act as a primary point of contact for shareholders, assigned companies, dealerships, and internal business partners.
• Collect, organize, and maintain documentation that supports financial statements, tax returns, and regulatory filings.
• Address financial, accounting, and reporting inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with special projects and undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, or program analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in interpreting financial data and conducting account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other accounting-related software applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
