Reinsurance Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.

📋 Description

• Prepare technical and financial accounting for premiums, claims, and reserves based on statements of accounts or bordereaux.

• Review and assess reinsurance contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and guidelines.

• Oversee the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims.

• Generate reports on reinsurance and perform analyses to assist in decision-making.

• Provide consultation to internal stakeholders regarding Statutory and Reinsurance Accounting expertise and advice.

• Build and nurture relationships with reinsurers.

• Promote continuous improvement and standardization of processes.

• Participate in relevant training sessions to stay updated on systems, processes, and changes.

• Collaborate with Captive Account Executives to keep SOP and training guides current.

• Execute additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Accounting or Finance.

• At least 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, insurance, or a related financial field.

• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

• Capable of establishing and maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (carriers).

• Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on metrics.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.

• Fluent in English.

• Self-driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

• Willingness and ability to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related events.
