Regulatory Specialist – Food Canning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +26 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee compliance projects related to Low-Acid Canned Food (LACF) and acidified food for both domestic and international manufacturers.

• Prepare, review, and file regulatory documentation to ensure adherence to FDA regulations.

• Act as the main point of contact between clients and regulatory bodies, addressing compliance queries and requirements.

• Evaluate technical and product data to determine regulatory responsibilities and compliance risks.

• Offer regulatory advice and project updates to clients through email, phone, and virtual meetings.

• Keep accurate records of submissions, communications, and project activities.

• Work collaboratively with global cross-functional teams to advance regulatory compliance efforts.

• Lead process enhancements and aid in the creation of regulatory resources and best practices.

• Engage with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. importers.

• Assist both U.S. and international clients with compliance related to Low-Acid and Acidified Canned Food.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific field (food science, biochemistry, biology) or a related discipline is mandatory.

• 3-5 years of experience within the compliance and regulatory sector.

• Extensive knowledge of various food-processing operations acquired through training or professional experience.

• BPCS certification is required.

• Familiarity and/or training in conducting or reviewing Heat Penetration, Temperature Distribution, and Aseptic Validation tests.

• Strong understanding of microbiology, thermal processing, and preventive controls.

• Certifications and published research demonstrating knowledge in microbiology, thermal processing, and preventive controls.

• Specialization in food processing and thermally processed food is advantageous but not essential.

• Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English are preferred.

• Must be able to work long-term from one of the supported U.S. states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or West Virginia.
