Registered Nurse – Quality Assurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conducts thorough reviews of all OASIS assessments to ensure their appropriateness, completeness, and adherence to federal and state regulations as well as Seaport Scripps Home Health standards.

• Leverages OASIS variation or alert reports during the evaluation of OASIS data.

• Guarantees accurate ICD-10 coding and sequencing relevant to the patient’s medical condition, including any co-morbidities.

• Collaborates with the appropriate clinical personnel to clarify any data integrity concerns and assists clinicians in implementing necessary corrections in line with Seaport Scripps Home Health protocols.

• Assesses visit utilization to ensure compliance with care guidelines and patient conditions; communicates potential financial losses and/or underutilization to the Clinical Supervisor or their designee.

• Alerts the Seaport Scripps Home Health leadership team about concerning trends identified during the OASIS review process.

• Collaborates with managers to address trends impacting the agency’s outcomes and process measures observed during OASIS reviews.

• Conducts OASIS inter-rater reliability visits with clinical staff.

• Engages in Quality Improvement and Corporate Compliance initiatives as assigned.

• Supports other chart audit activities as instructed.

• Enhances professional and technical knowledge through participation in educational workshops and the review of relevant professional publications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current CA Registered Nurse License.

• Bachelor’s degree is essential.

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical home health experience is required.

• Proficient understanding of OASIS and ICD-10 coding.

• OASIS certification (COS-C) is preferred.

• OASIS Home health ICD-10 coding certification is preferred.

• Familiarity with federal regulations and state licensure requirements.
