This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete process of threat case management for your region, covering intake, triage, behavioral assessment, mitigation planning, documentation, and closure for threats affecting employees, executives, facilities, and other assets of Coinbase.

• Conduct structured behavioral threat assessments utilizing Coinbase methodologies and recognized frameworks (e.g., JACA, WAVR-21, CTAP-25) to assess motivation, capability, escalation indicators, and stabilizers, then convert findings into clear operational recommendations.

• Facilitate intelligence-led incident response by acting as the intelligence lead during active incidents, collaborating with GSOC, ensuring prompt escalation, and providing decision support until resolution.

• Collaborate across functions with Executive Protection, GSOC, Legal, HR/ER, Insider Threat, and Communications to coordinate response actions, harmonize mitigations, and manage reporting requirements.

• Generate decision-ready briefings, written assessments, and executive updates that convey threat posture, risk rationale, and recommended next steps to security leadership and cross-functional partners.

• Enhance the maturity of the regional program by refining intake standards, QA/QC processes, playbooks, metrics, training, and handoff procedures, while mentoring peers through expertise and influence.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in threat assessment and management, protective intelligence, workplace violence prevention, behavioral threat assessment, or closely related security functions.

• Proven experience operating as a senior individual contributor and regional subject matter expert, independently managing ambiguous, high-stakes casework with minimal oversight while influencing outcomes across teams without direct authority.

• Established ability to carry out threat investigations and turn fragmented information into clear assessments, prioritized risks, and actionable mitigation plans using structured professional judgment frameworks.

• Expertise with case management and intelligence tools (e.g., Ontic, OSINT platforms, public records research, social media monitoring) and a history of enhancing processes and tools to improve signal quality.

• Experience in collaborating with law enforcement, managing investigative referrals, and navigating workplace violence reporting obligations across various jurisdictions.

• Responsible utilization of generative AI, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
