
Regional Tax Director β LATAM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
β’ Assist countries throughout LATAM during and after tax inspections, which involves document reviews, meetings with authorities, negotiations, appeals, and court proceedings.
β’ Facilitate local tax compliance, including transfer pricing documentation, withholding tax, tax returns, and external audits.
β’ Evaluate quarterly tax reporting (Form 18), encompassing deferred tax, adjustments from previous years, tax losses, applicable tax rates, and tax risks by country.
β’ Oversee local tax risks and provisions for consolidated financial statements through the Blika tax platform.
β’ Offer guidance on administrative matters, cross-border transactions, permanent establishment issues, indirect taxation, VAT registration, tax rulings, Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs), and exemptions.
β’ Assess tax due diligence, tax clauses, and tax indemnities related to mergers and acquisitions and reorganizations.
β’ Identify opportunities for tax planning, incentives, credits, exemptions, and overall tax savings.
β’ Assist the LATAM business with cross-border contracts, transactions, pricing implications, alternative structures, training, and client conference calls.
β’ Lead or assist in legal entity reorganizations, financing structures, entity formation, liquidation, and closures.
β’ Coordinate tax compliance, tax accounting, tax reporting, forecasts, valuation allowances, and calculations for HFM Form 18.
β’ Support acquisitions, divestitures, optimization of legal structures, intercompany transactions, reviews of tax legislation, and changes in compliance.
β’ Collaborate with the Finance Transformation Team to implement process enhancements.
β’ Work in conjunction with Treasury, Finance, Group Control, Corporate Development, Legal, Internal Audit, local Finance, and regional controlling teams.
β’ Masterβs degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or Law.
β’ Preferred professional certifications (CPA, CTA, CFA, or equivalent).
β’ Over 10 years of experience in international taxation, with notable regional exposure (LATAM), ideally from a Big Four firm or a multinational corporation.
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead regional tax teams or projects, manage advisors, and influence executive stakeholders.
β’ In-depth knowledge of direct, indirect, and transfer pricing regulations, including permanent establishment (PE), thin capitalization, withholding taxes, VAT/GST, and cross-border taxation.
β’ Strong understanding of IFRS/US GAAP tax reporting standards, including deferred tax assets/liabilities, effective tax rate analysis, and valuation allowances.
β’ Experience in tax audit defense, dispute resolution, appeals, court proceedings, and managing provisions in systems such as Blika.
β’ Expertise in tax due diligence, structuring, and integration, including tax clauses in S&P agreements and tax indemnities.
β’ Capability to identify incentives, optimize legal entity structures, apply for tax rulings/APAs, and design tax-efficient financing frameworks.
β’ Proficient in business English and Spanish.
