This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Accountable for driving profitable revenue growth of Wastequip containers and Toter plastic carts within the Central California Territory.
• Achieving sales targets and objectives with current customers while identifying and cultivating new customer relationships.
• Utilizing Salesforce.com, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will oversee the lead/opportunity pipeline, coordinate orders with inside sales and operations, and uphold account details including sales call activities, customer contacts, and call notes.
• Responsible for maintaining and actively pursuing new business in both private and municipal/county markets, including proposal preparation, presentation administration, negotiations, and management of all sales aspects.
• Deliver presentations to municipal and private sector waste and recycling haulers at various levels, including Council or Board Members.
• Participate in trade shows and industry association meetings, including evening events.
• Stay informed about competitors operating within the territory.
• Assist customers in selecting the appropriate product for their needs, encompassing site surveys, in-person visits, and assessment reviews.
• Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and provide “after the sale” support, along with sales training for customers on products, while aiding customer sales teams with their calls.
• A minimum of 5 years of sales experience is required, preferably within the waste/recycling sector.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; however, additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Sales experience in B2B equipment sales or equipment sales is desirable.
• Must complete hands-on product training within 90 days of hire and engage in product update and training workshops throughout the year.
• Familiarity with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM tools is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• A strong work ethic and the capacity to travel 50-75%, typically requiring 2-3 nights per week.
• Excellent organizational skills are necessary.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
• Strong project management capabilities are required.
