Regional Sales Director – ASEAN, Korea

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Lead the expansion of GitLab's operations in ASEAN and Korea by developing the regional sales strategy, ensuring visibility of the sales pipeline, and directing daily activities to align with regional business objectives.

• Oversee, mentor, and cultivate a team of Account Executives, participating in customer engagements and exemplifying effective, field-oriented sales methodologies.

• Facilitate the acquisition of new logos across a diverse range of medium-sized enterprises in ASEAN and Korea while formulating and implementing a long-term strategy for larger, intricate, multi-stakeholder accounts, including directing deal strategies and contract negotiations for high-value projects.

• Enhance GitLab's standing in the ASEAN and Korea markets by collaborating with marketing, business development, and local networks to create a qualified pipeline and increase market awareness.

• Develop and implement clear operational rhythms, sales processes, and methodologies (such as MEDDPICC or similar) that foster structure and repeatability while promoting agility.

• Collaborate with regional sales managers and cross-functional teams in account management, customer success, marketing, product, engineering, and operations to ensure aligned coverage, share best practices, and guarantee consistent execution.

• Cultivate and sustain executive-level relationships with key accounts, establishing GitLab as a strategic ally and identifying opportunities for expansion and renewal.

• Analyze pipeline, forecasting, and performance metrics to pinpoint gaps and opportunities, adjust regional strategies to focus on key initiatives, and represent the ASEAN and Korea business internally with accurate insights into market trends and customer demands.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building and managing sales teams across a regional or multi-country framework, emphasizing coaching, field engagement, and talent development.

• Capability to design and implement a regional go-to-market strategy, including pipeline development, territory management, and structured deal execution.

• Proficient in coaching teams through a defined sales process, assisting with complex deal strategies, and ensuring consistency in regional execution.

• Knowledge of B2B software or technology sales and concepts related to open source and DevSecOps, with a desire to deepen understanding of GitLab’s platform.

• Expertise in establishing structure and clarity, setting clear expectations, and utilizing organized, data-driven sales processes, including the application of MEDDPICC or similar methodologies.

• Demonstrated proficiency in consultative, value-based selling and in fostering established relationships with senior customer stakeholders to facilitate new business and expansion.

• Comfort in operating within a dynamic, fully remote environment, exercising sound judgment, initiative, and utilizing Salesforce.com or similar CRM and marketing tools to maintain organization and effectiveness.

• Ability to work collaboratively across account management, customer success, marketing, product, engineering, and operations to synchronize execution and promote customer growth.
