This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +4 more states.
• Achieve or surpass the sales budget set by the Regional Sales Manager for a designated geographic area with pre-assigned customer partners.
• Cultivate, monitor, and sustain both direct and indirect relationships with key accounts, mechanical contractors, industry organizations, local authorities, and governmental entities to foster long-term sales prospects.
• Track Rep targets weekly and relay results to the regional sales leadership on a weekly basis.
• Develop corrective action plans as necessary to meet or exceed customer development and sales objectives each week.
• Serve as the channel authority on the features, advantages, product performance, and design guidelines for Daikin's products marketed in the United States, focusing primarily on VRV.
• Become the technical expert on VRV and a resource for our Rep salesforce.
• Lead monthly sales meetings with the Rep sales team to assess VRV + FiT sales progress.
• Conduct monthly business reviews with the Rep leadership team.
• Keep customers updated regarding new products, changes, PMNs, and training events as they arise.
• Offer ongoing training and support related to sales applications, installations, commissioning, and business development (primarily VRV).
• Collaborate closely with local authorities, associations (e.g., ASHRAE), end users, and architects to create long-term sales opportunities.
• Track project and customer development goals weekly and communicate these results to the company's sales leadership.
• Leverage Daikin resources to address all customer concerns, including technical and application support needs.
• Demonstrate products and new features to potential clients.
• Work in conjunction with the National Accounts Director, Regional Sales Manager, and other sales team members to enhance VRV product opportunities within the sales territory.
• Provide market insights and competitive intelligence to Daikin leadership.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned by regional sales leadership.
• A minimum of 8+ years of proven experience in VRF sales management within a technical sales environment and a specification-focused sales setting.
• Previous experience managing a revenue budget between $5M to $10M is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Strong technical capabilities in VRF systems.
• Proven experience with product selection software, particularly for VRV designs.
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts, business plans, and strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to apply a consultative selling approach in collaboration with our Rep salespeople.
• Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and shows flexibility and openness in social interactions.
• Adopts a "customer and team first" mindset; utilizes a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of managing time, tasks, and activities within a CRM environment (Microsoft 365 CRM is used).
• Organizes professional activities through a detailed time management system.
• Displays sound judgment and discernment.
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of company products and services, customer profiles, decision-makers, sales processes, and market trends.
• Skilled in negotiating agreements with customers and other relevant parties.
• Comfortable engaging with C-level executives and other key stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
