This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Oversee business performance in a designated state or group of states while ensuring the successful execution of the regional business plan.
• Manage state-level depletions, key performance indicators (KPIs), and distributor objectives.
• Conduct monthly performance evaluations with essential distributor teams.
• Supervise monthly collaborative efforts, market visits, and critical selling initiatives.
• Develop and implement state-level road maps, including programming and activity calendars.
• Maintain relationships with key personnel at state distributors.
• Track pricing accuracy, inventory health, and forecast data inputs.
• Accountable for performance planning within the assigned state(s).
• Ensure that all brand expenditures for the designated region are kept within the annual budget.
• Responsible for submitting discretionary spending requests in line with company policy.
• Facilitate monthly performance review meetings and quarterly business reviews (QBRs).
• Meet monthly with Sales Operations to assess year-to-date budget performance.
• Allocate 70%-80% of time for in-market presence.
• Foster relationships with key account buyers and guarantee the implementation of focus programs.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of five years of progressive sales experience in the wine and spirits, beverage alcohol, or relevant consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated success in sales and account management within the alcohol beverage industry, including extensive knowledge of both on- and off-premise wine channels and trade.
• Passion and knowledge for both luxury/premium and commercial wines, along with enthusiasm for selling a diverse range of price points and formats.
• Proven field leadership ability with a focus on driving execution through influence rather than authority.
• Strong understanding of off-premise and chain execution factors (pricing, promotions, merchandising) and confidence in leading account strategies.
• Practical sales experience in the food and beverage industry with significant distributor management exposure.
• Comprehensive knowledge of wine principles, the winegrowing and winemaking processes, food and wine pairings, and related industry insights.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong public speaking and presentation abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the highest level of integrity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Valid Driver's License with the ability to obtain insurance; willingness to travel extensively in-market.
• Overnight travel required approximately 10% - 15% of the time, with availability for weekend and evening work as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 30 lbs. frequently; capacity to sit and work at a desk for prolonged periods; must frequently walk and occasionally stand, reach outward and upward, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend; requires manual dexterity for keyboarding and extended computer use.
