Regional Insurance Verification Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Ensure the integrity and compliance of all records in accordance with relevant regulations and requirements.

• Acquire or update necessary referrals and authorizations through phone, fax, and online platforms.

• Examine daily reports for patients needing authorizations, pre-notifications, and verification of insurance benefits.

• Execute precise data entry in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

• Refresh patient accounts with details of insurance verification.

• Liaise with patients concerning their insurance benefits.

• Identify deductibles, co-payments, and self-pay accounts.

• Inform the relevant staff when treatment or service requests are denied.

• Support the manager and other team members with inquiries related to accounts.

• Strategize and achieve goals utilizing experience and judgment.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Familiarity with the revenue cycle in healthcare.

• Understanding of clinic policies and procedures.

• Awareness of managed care contracts and utilization.

• Proficiency in computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Understanding of CPTS/ICD-9 coding.

• Ability to gather and report claim information effectively.

• Capability to resolve utilization issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills along with customer relations expertise.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with billing and medical staff as well as external agencies.

• Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and addressing problems.

• Competence in time management practices.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain organization.

• Accuracy in data entry within a fast-paced environment.

• Reliable telephone and secure internet connections that meet the role’s requirements.

• A quiet and private workspace to ensure confidentiality.
