Regional Insurance Verification Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Ensure that all records are kept with the utmost accuracy and adhere to relevant regulations and requirements.

• Acquire or update necessary referrals and authorizations through phone calls, faxes, and online platforms.

• Assess daily reports for patients needing authorizations, pre-notifications, and insurance benefit verification.

• Execute precise data entry in a dynamic environment.

• Update patient accounts with details of insurance verification.

• Liaise with patients regarding their insurance benefits.

• Recognize deductibles, co-pays, and self-pay accounts.

• Inform relevant staff members when treatment or service requests are denied.

• Support the manager and other team members with account inquiries.

• Strategically plan and achieve goals using expertise and judgment.

• Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

• Familiarity with the revenue cycle in the healthcare sector.

• Understanding of clinic policies and procedures.

• Awareness of managed care contracts and their utilization.

• Proficiency in computer systems, programs, and spreadsheet applications.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Understanding of CPTS/ICD-9 codes.

• Competence in collecting and reporting claim information.

• Ability to resolve utilization-related issues.

• Proficient in written and verbal communication and customer relations.

• Capability to collaborate effectively with billing and medical personnel as well as external organizations.

• Skill in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues.

• Aptitude for time management.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain organization.

• Capacity to work remotely with telephone and secure internet access.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in a private workspace.

• Availability via Teams, phone, and email during designated work hours.

• Willingness to participate in mandatory training and meetings through Teams.
