This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +9 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the operations of multiple Sound Physicians hospitalist practices located in Washington.

• Build and maintain relationships with hospitalist teams, C-suite executives, case management, nursing, medical staff offices, community providers, and specialty physicians.

• Supervise direct reports who support the daily operations of hospitalist practices.

• Facilitate discussions and prepare materials for the Joint Operations Committee and Quarterly Performance Reviews.

• Review and authorize client-facing scorecards, dashboards, and action plans.

• Direct strategic discussions with hospital partners and communicate solutions offered by Sound.

• Cultivate relationships with C-suite executives and provide monthly performance reports.

• Conduct meetings with Medical Directors and PMT members to assess site performance and identify opportunities and challenges.

• Manage payroll, credentialing, human resources, recruiting, and other operational functions of the practice.

• Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews and analyze financial statements, trends, and variances of the practice.

• Develop and oversee annual budgets while being accountable for the regional program's P&L performance.

• Collect and process monthly patient-level data files and address any issues that arise.

• Seek new business opportunities and coordinate with Business Development, COO, and RCMOs.

• Conduct due diligence and design practices for new hospital operations.

• Create or review proposals, financial proformas, negotiate contracts, and implement new sites.

• Lead the implementation of new practices.

• Recruit, train, and develop a regional practice management team.

• Monitor reconciliation dates, PQI submissions, contract renewals, and annual escalator anniversaries.

• Elevate issues and concerns to the COO as necessary.

• Assist clinical performance leaders and nurses in the development and execution of clinical processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.

• 6–8 years of experience in healthcare operational management.

• Proficient in financial statements.

• Familiarity with hospital and healthcare informatics, including quality measures.

• 3–4 years of experience managing a multi-site physician group practice is preferred.

• Experience in a matrixed environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Knowledge of MS Project.

• Understanding of Process Improvement methodologies.

• Training in LEAN-Six Sigma for healthcare is desirable.

• Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare regulations.

• Familiarity with healthcare payment models, physician practice management, revenue cycle, payer contracting, managed care models, and Accountable Care Organization structures.

• Understanding of the hospital medicine landscape and the market dynamics influencing the hospitalist model of care.

• Insight into hospitalist physician recruiting, marketing, and compensation issues.

• Strong communication skills, both clear and consistent.

• Ability to navigate and adapt to change effectively.

• Capacity to anticipate needs and make decisions despite incomplete or ambiguous information.

• Exhibits executive presence and professionalism.

• Strong negotiation skills.

• Excellent relationship-building and maintenance abilities.

• Strategic thinking skills and data-driven planning capabilities.

• Strong teamwork skills.

• Must reside in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Missouri, Iowa, or Mississippi.
