Regional Dietitian – Long Term Care, PT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform clinical nutrition evaluations and provide care recommendations for patients/residents in long-term care settings.

• Liaise with physicians, staff, residents, families, consultants, and corporate personnel regarding dietary services.

• Collaborate with facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Offer expert advice on professional nutrition and dietary standards in accordance with state and federal regulations.

• Guarantee timely and accurate documentation within the facility.

• Deliver medical nutrition therapy for new admissions and residents identified as being at nutritional risk.

• Guide dietary managers through in-service training sessions for both dietary and nursing staff.

• Ensure that administrators and corporate staff receive consultant reports summarizing consultation activities.

• Suggest kitchen and food service equipment requirements for the centers.

• Engage in ongoing education within the nutrition field.

• Utilize discretion and sound judgment in interactions with staff, residents, family members, and colleagues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

• Must possess a current Registered Dietitian license in the state where the facility is located.

• Must be recognized as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

• Must hold an active license in Georgia, South Carolina, or North Carolina.

• Familiarity with nutritional standards and their practical application.

• Understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including long-term care sanitation and safety codes.

• Capability to assess and oversee dietary service operations.

• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.

• Leadership abilities to guide and support consultants effectively.

• Ability to make prompt, rational decisions that benefit residents, staff, and facilities.

• Limited travel may be required.
