This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Act as the chief finance representative for Symbotic's operations in Mexico, managing local accounting functions and ensuring adherence to statutory compliance standards.
• Supervise and evaluate third-party accounting firms, guaranteeing the accuracy and completeness of financial records, filings, and reports.
• Direct the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, which include reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, managing accruals, and conducting financial analyses.
• Prepare, assess, and investigate balance sheet reconciliations, accounting variances, and financial discrepancies.
• Report risks and suggestions to management.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting principles, statutory reporting obligations, labor laws, payroll requirements, and other regulatory commitments.
• Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations teams on budgeting, forecasting, contract accounting, and operational finance projects.
• Assist with external audits, process enhancements, ERP initiatives, and improvements to internal controls.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent professional background.
• CPA designation is preferred but not mandatory.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Mexican statutory accounting, financial reporting, payroll, labor, and regulatory compliance standards.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and the dynamics of multinational financial reporting environments.
• Experience in managing third-party accounting, payroll, tax, legal, or professional service providers.
• Familiarity with project accounting, long-term contract accounting, construction accounting, and revenue recognition principles.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
• Remote position, ideally based in Mexico City, MX.
• A valid driver's license and passport are required for travel to headquarters in Wilmington, MA.
• Up to 10% travel may be necessary, with reimbursement for business travel expenses according to program guidelines.
