Recovery Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Identify and investigate claims from third parties.

• Recover overpayments related to workers' compensation, no-fault insurance, hospital liens, and various accident or liability claims.

• Determine legal liability and pursue, negotiate, and finalize subrogation, liens, and reimbursement recoveries.

• Apply relevant laws, regulations, and policy language to secure recoveries in compliance with mandates.

• Negotiate lien settlements with attorneys and other responsible parties to achieve the highest possible recovery.

• Assist in responding to Summons and Complaints and interrogatories from attorneys when legal action has been initiated.

• Communicate legal rights to all involved parties and notify them of the lien.

• Review medical charges to ascertain their relatedness.

• Maintain comprehensive recovery records and ensure the accuracy of case details.

• Uphold technical skills and knowledge of recovery processes while serving as a resource for the department.

• Review and fulfill ongoing competency requirements to maintain role-specific skills, knowledge, and abilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree in business, legal, or a healthcare-related field is required.

• Alternatively, leadership may accept three years of relevant work experience in place of formal education.

• A minimum of one year of work experience in coding, insurance processes, liability, subrogation, coordination of benefits, or adjudication of workers' compensation claims is necessary.

• CSRP (Certified Subrogation Recovery Professional) designation from NASP (National Association of Subrogation Professionals) is preferred.
