React Native Mobile Application Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and development of React Native mobile applications that assist wildland fire operations and field personnel.

• Create applications intended to function reliably in remote areas with low connectivity, featuring offline mapping and data capabilities.

• Implement mobile mapping features utilizing Esri ArcGIS technologies, including maps, feature layers, geographic data, and offline processes.

• Contribute to Xentity's web applications built on React.

• Integrate mobile applications with APIs, data services, backend systems, and existing Xentity application platforms.

• Offer technical direction to the mobile CI/CD team regarding build requirements, environment setups, signing, provisioning, testing, and releases to App Store/Google Play.

• Resolve issues related to mobile builds, devices, operating systems, performance, connectivity, and applications.

• Develop strategies for offline data storage, synchronization, caching, and recovery.

• Assist in testing across various iOS and Android devices and operating system versions.

• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, GIS specialists, UX designers, wildland fire subject matter experts, and technical developers.

• Engage in assigned backlog tickets, backlog refinement, ticket prioritization, and roadmap implementation.

• Facilitate the deployment of primary mobile applications and the associated application portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 3 years of professional software development experience.

• Must be a US Citizen to fulfill government contract requirements.

• Capable of obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust clearance.

• Proven professional experience in developing React Native mobile applications.

• Experience as a developer on one or more production mobile applications released on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, with the ability to detail specific development contributions.

• Strong expertise in React Native and TypeScript.

• Background in developing mobile mapping applications and handling geospatial data in offline or low-connectivity environments.

• Required experience with Esri ArcGIS technologies, including the ArcGIS Maps SDK for React Native or similar ArcGIS mobile development technologies.

• Proficient in managing maps, geographic data, feature layers, and large datasets on mobile devices.

• Understanding of Android and iOS application requirements, encompassing configuration, permissions, certificates, provisioning, signing, builds, and store requirements.

• Ability to collaborate with a mobile CI/CD team, providing technical specifications and guidance for builds, testing, signing, and deployment.

• Experience in troubleshooting mobile application issues on Android and iOS platforms.

• Strong knowledge of mobile application performance, memory management, storage, connectivity, and battery considerations.

• Familiarity with Git and contemporary software development methodologies.

• Capacity to work alongside UX designers, web developers, GIS developers, backend developers, project managers, and technical leads.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.

• Preferred: experience in creating offline-capable mobile applications that include local data storage, synchronization, caching, and intermittent connectivity.

• Preferred: experience in developing native Android applications using Kotlin.

• Preferred: experience in developing native iOS applications using Swift.

• Preferred: experience in building React Native applications with native Android or iOS modules.

• Preferred: experience in implementing offline GIS workflows, including offline maps, feature data, synchronization, and conflict resolution.

• Preferred: experience with Esri ArcGIS Maps SDK for Native Apps, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Feature Services, ArcGIS Online, or similar Esri technologies.

• Preferred: experience with SQLite or other local mobile database/storage technologies.

• Preferred: knowledge of OAuth and authentication frameworks.

• Preferred: familiarity with KMZ, KML, GeoJSON, Shapefile, and FileGDB formats.

• Preferred: experience with Agentic Pair Programming and VS Code.
