This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Account Specialist position is a hybrid role that offers access and reimbursement support along with product and disease education to various accounts.
• Responsible for key account management and providing product logistics assistance.
• Communicating essential promotional messages to advocate for individuals affected by Alexander disease (AxD).
• The Account Specialist will represent the organization within the AxD community, educating external Healthcare Professionals on the approved indications and clinical data related to the AxD disease state and the appropriate use of zilganersen following FDA approval.
• Developing, maintaining, and utilizing networks and relationships within the local healthcare system to create and implement effective business plans that align with customer and Ionis objectives.
• Engaging compliantly and effectively with therapeutic field teams to deliver a novel treatment to individuals suffering from AxD.
• Providing education to HCPs, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and office personnel about zilganersen, including its brand messages, efficacy, and safety.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree and/or advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, PhD, PharmD) are preferred, along with at least 8 years of pertinent experience.
• A minimum of 4+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical sales or Field Reimbursement and/or access roles, particularly in Neurology or Rare diseases and product launches.
• Experience engaging with COEs, HCPs, and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
• Coordination with cross-functional field teams.
• Proven experience in successful product launches.
• Knowledge of customer reimbursement and drug access education and support.
• In-depth understanding of the healthcare ecosystem, including market access landscapes and payer reimbursement policies for rare disease products.
• Comprehensive knowledge of key Centers of Excellence and the ability to effectively navigate complex accounts with demonstrated success.
• Strong analytical skills to develop product knowledge competency in pharmaceuticals, competitor products, and relevant disease states.
• Self-motivated with the capability to resolve a broad range of customer challenges with integrity and compliance.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
• Proven history of consistently and compliantly meeting or exceeding financial and/or other quantitative and qualitative objectives.
• Solid understanding and adherence to external laws, codes, and company policies relevant to the healthcare industry and proper interactions with healthcare professionals.
• Travel approximately 50% based on territory geography (1. West/2. North-East / 3. South-Central).
