This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the planning and conceptualization of railway electrification systems, including configurations for 25 kV AC, 15 kV AC, and 750 V DC traction power, adhering to relevant national and international standards.

• Create and evaluate technical documentation such as system design reports, load flow analyses, short-circuit assessments, protection coordination studies, and earthing and bonding schemes.

• Plan and detail specifications for traction power substations (TPS) and autotransformer stations, encompassing transformer sizing, switchgear setups, SCADA/remote control interfaces, and protection relay configurations.

• Generate and assess drawings, schematics, and layout plans for substation locations and overhead line equipment corridors.

• Conduct or supervise route surveys, corridor studies, and site feasibility evaluations for electrification infrastructure.

• Establish technical specifications and tender documentation for electrification projects and equipment acquisition.

• Manage interactions with civil, signaling, telecommunications, and rolling stock teams to ensure system compatibility and integration.

• Assist in environmental impact assessments and planning approval procedures related to electrification infrastructure.

• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and method statements during both design and construction phases.

• Engage in design evaluations, HAZOP/HAZID workshops, and safety assurance processes in accordance with the applicable Safety Management System (SMS).

• Stay informed on industry advancements, regulatory updates, and new standards pertinent to railway electrification.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

• At least 5 years of experience in railway electrification planning or design, with proven involvement in traction power substation projects.

• Strong understanding of traction power supply systems (both AC and/or DC), overhead line systems, and power quality standards.

• Experience with load flow and short-circuit simulation tools (e.g., PSCAD, ETAP, Spice-based tools, or similar).

• Familiarity with substation protection, SCADA systems, and earthing principles for traction environments.

• Competence in AutoCAD and CIVIL 3D.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

• Preferred: Eligibility for professional engineering registration (PE, CEng, or national equivalent).
