This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver project management services for railroad initiatives on behalf of local and state government agencies.
• Evaluate and address project requests that impact railroad properties or rights of way.
• Communicate and report to railroad management while ensuring efficient coordination.
• Assess project work plans alongside a multidisciplinary team and agency designers.
• Oversee project updates, manage new processes, and maintain project databases.
• Track project budgets, scopes, and schedule projections.
• Facilitate inspection and construction oversight with field personnel.
• Carry out project reporting and keep project documentation organized.
• Travel to railroad sites as required (90% office-based, 10% travel).
• Supervise daily operations and maintain comprehensive records.
• Draft and review project correspondence and reports.
• Organize and lead meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Build and sustain client relationships.
• Coordinate the efforts of sub-consultants and assist with contractual agreements.
• Support contract negotiations and resolve conflicts as needed.
• Complete project initiation and compliance documentation.
• Validate invoices and provide support for contract compliance.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office, PDF, and various productivity tools.
• Strong project management capabilities with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
• A degree in engineering is mandatory; a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering is preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities and a willingness to take ownership of assigned projects.
• A strong preference for candidates located in the Midwestern States.
• Experience in managing projects across multiple states and transitioning projects from preliminary engineering to construction.
• Preferred familiarity with railroad and highway infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of DOT project management methodologies, phasing, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficient in collaborating with local and state agency project sponsors.
