This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Agreement on interim payment amounts with clients, overseeing when payment notices are due, received, or outstanding.

• Negotiation of final accounts.

• Collaborating with the Sales team and/or Project Manager to prepare project budgets as needed.

• Monitoring budgets in relation to costs and projections on a monthly basis, and reporting upwards monthly.

• Assisting with challenging subcontractor final accounts.

• Ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.

• Collaborating with the Project team and Directors on all commercial matters (variations, delays, etc.), ensuring they are identified and documented.

• Supporting the Project Manager and Directors in the preparation of contractual notices.

• Conducting site visits to monitor variations and quality issues as required to meet Client needs, while ensuring accurate site records are maintained.

• Participating in client meetings as necessary.

• Reviewing and providing input on tender stage terms and conditions in collaboration with the Sales team.

• Fostering strong relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues.

• Mentoring junior team members as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar commercial role within the fire protection sector or building services industry (essential).

• Solid foundational knowledge of standard forms of contract (essential).

• Extensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations relevant to the Fire Engineering industry is highly desirable (essential).

• Proficient in cost control techniques and software applications (essential).

• Familiarity with dispute resolution procedures and experience in managing disputes (essential).

• Capability to produce accurate monthly cost and value reports (essential).

• Strong negotiation skills with clients and subcontractors (essential).

• Experience in handling final accounts (essential).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities (essential).

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy (essential).

• Strong communication and negotiation skills (essential).

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team (essential).

• Specific IT/software experience, including MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. (essential).

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or currently pursuing a degree (desirable but not essential).

• Knowledge of fire industry standards (desirable but not essential).
