This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Organize and schedule research activities, including interviews, focus groups, and survey administrations; establish and maintain strategic partnerships with both internal and external teams; assist in participant recruitment and manage incentives.
• Oversee data collection and implementation measurement systems to ensure program quality; engage in various data collection initiatives (e.g., focus groups, surveys, interviews, etc.); perform user needs assessments and apply data-driven frameworks to support ongoing product improvements.
• Create, maintain, clean, and manage extensive datasets (e.g., Common Core of Data school directory files, client implementation databases, etc.) utilizing Stata, R, or another statistical software package; proficiently summarize descriptive data for client products, dissemination, and annual reports.
• Contribute to and assist in the drafting of project reports and proposals of varying sizes; aid in the preparation and submission of both large and small proposals.
• Present project findings to internal project teams; engage with research participants regarding data collection, analyses, and reports; communicate effectively with internal colleagues about project requirements, including IRB, the Data Protection Office, and Accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., quantitative methods, cognitive science, statistics, mathematics, data science) or a degree in education or social sciences with knowledge of quantitative methods.
• Previous coursework or direct experience related to research and evaluation methodology, measurement, and both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
• Proficiency in major statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, or Stata).
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Adaptability to urgent requests and collaboration with project directors to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Outstanding organizational skills and a proven ability to learn new technologies and quantitative methodologies.
• Strong ability to collaborate with others and work effectively within a team environment.
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills with the capability to coordinate multiple tasks across various projects.
• Competence in developing charts, tables, and other graphical representations for reports.
• Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot) and sound judgment regarding their use in research and technical tasks, including fact-checking, bias awareness, and source verification of written outputs, as well as identifying hallucinated or incorrect code.
