This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee multiple quality management aspects for underground utility construction, encompassing stormwater, duct bank, wastewater, and water systems.
• Assist in the development, execution, and ongoing enhancement of quality management protocols and processes.
• Ensure that project teams establish and adhere to quality requirements, standards, and documentation practices correctly.
• Analyze and interpret project specifications, contract stipulations, and utility quality standards across various owners and projects.
• Coordinate and facilitate testing activities and requirements, including pressure testing, hydrology testing, and other utility system validation processes.
• Collaborate with project teams and contractors to guarantee that testing programs are well-planned, executed, and documented.
• Provide expertise in Quality Management (QM) methodologies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct quality assessments, audits, inspections, and follow-up actions to promote compliance and continuous improvement.
• Work alongside project managers, field teams, contractors, and stakeholders to address quality-related concerns and implement corrective measures.
• Track and convey quality performance metrics, risks, trends, and areas for enhancement.
• Act as a remote quality resource, with regular travel to project locations as required.
• Lead quality initiatives and potentially manage and cultivate a quality team as project demands expand.
• Utilize experience in large-scale utility infrastructure projects, particularly focusing on underground utility systems and construction quality.
• Maintain a strong understanding of construction specifications, standards, and technical documentation, with the capability to interpret complex project requirements and apply them consistently across diverse project settings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in the design, engineering, or construction industry, with a focus on leading a project’s quality system.
• Strong attention to detail to effectively organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and commonly accepted business practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier.
• Demonstrated positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills.
• Knowledge of one or more quality systems such as Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson’s Quality System, continuous improvement, value streams, etc.
• Experience in issue management and inspection of completed work.
• Completed training in basic project management and supervision.
• Current driver’s license.
