šŸ“‹ Description

• The Platform Quality Engineer is an active engineering position within StarCompliance’s centralized Platform Quality Engineering department, tasked with ensuring quality assurance at the platform level throughout the enterprise SaaS platform.

• Reporting directly to the Lead Quality Architect, the Platform Quality Engineer plays a vital role in the design, implementation, and upkeep of automated quality controls that verify cross-service integration, core user journeys within the enterprise, and non-functional characteristics of the platform.

• This role primarily concentrates on integration and API-level testing within a distributed, cloud-native environment, encompassing asynchronous and event-driven workflows.

• Ensure the reliability, resilience, and performance at scale for distributed services by diagnosing intricate system failures through logs, telemetry, and test data, while also contributing to enterprise performance testing.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Proven experience in quality assurance for platform- or enterprise-scale SaaS applications, with an emphasis on validating integration, non-functional characteristics, and readiness for release across distributed systems.

• Proficient coding skills in one or more of C#, TypeScript, or Python, with the capability to produce clean, maintainable, production-quality code.

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and maintaining automated tests at the integration and API layers for distributed, cloud-native systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud-native architectures and the methodologies for testing them, including messaging, asynchronous processing, retries, ordering, and failure management.

• Practical experience in testing event-driven systems utilizing cloud messaging or integration technologies (e.g., Azure Service Bus, Kafka, SNS/SQS, or similar).

• Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools and methodologies (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling, or similar).

• Experience in crafting realistic performance test scenarios and generating representative test data, including load, concurrency, and message-driven workloads.

• Practical experience in integrating functional and performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (preferably Azure DevOps).

• Background in diagnosing complex system failures using logs, telemetry, and test data.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance productivity, test quality, or failure analysis.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the competence to reason about system behavior and failure modes in a distributed environment.
