Quality Control Underwriter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Carry out comprehensive evaluations of mortgage loan files to verify adherence to investor guidelines, regulatory standards, and company policies.

• Employ Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS) like Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP) to evaluate loan eligibility and associated risks.

• Conduct pre-funding and post-closing audits to uncover discrepancies, errors, and indicators of fraud.

• Assess appraisals, income documentation, credit reports, and other pertinent documents for precision and thoroughness.

• Evaluate loan data and documentation to establish creditworthiness and compliance with underwriting criteria, including LTV (Loan-to-Value) ratios and DTI (Debt-to-Income) ratios.

• Generate detailed quality control reports and findings, documenting issues while offering recommendations for corrective measures.

• Relay audit results and findings to underwriting teams, management, and stakeholders, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, quality control, or a similar role.

• At least 3 years of experience with Loan Origination Systems (Encompass preferred).

• In-depth understanding of mortgage industry regulations, encompassing FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, NON-QM, and conventional loan guidelines.

• Expertise in using industry tools and software, including Encompass and ACES (Automated Compliance and Evaluation System), for conducting quality control reviews.
