This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +7 more states.
• Review and edit transcripts of legal proceedings, witness interviews, body cam footage, and various intricate legal, virtual, and real-world interactions.
• Examine transcripts for precision, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall formatting.
• Ensure that transcripts adhere to relevant legal and customer-defined standards.
• Confirm that formatting guidelines and template specifications are consistently applied across transcripts created by different transcriptionists.
• Transcribe, re-transcribe, and rectify transcripts that fall short of established standards.
• Ensure delivery of transcripts with 99-100% accuracy to clients.
• Attain expertise in a proprietary cloud-based transcription platform and provide constructive feedback to enhance product quality as necessary.
• Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all discussions and documents, complying with privacy regulations and company policies related to sensitive information.
• Deliver outstanding customer service.
• Certification from the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT); or at least one year of experience transcribing, often without log notes, digital recordings of multi-channel courtroom or other fast-paced and sometimes lengthy courtroom proceedings involving multiple participants.
• Proficient in using transcription equipment and software to facilitate the transcription of digital audio recordings featuring multiple speakers.
• Exceptional attention to detail: Identifies minor inconsistencies that may be overlooked by others (e.g., spacing, speaker labels, timestamps, repeated phrases).
• High conscientiousness: Possesses a strong internal motivation to "get it right," even when mistakes are minor.
• Pattern recognition: Quickly identifies deviations from formatting rules, style guides, or speaker logic.
• Efficient and deadline-focused: Self-motivated and adept at managing a varying workload within designated timeframes.
• Excellent command of the English language.
• Familiarity with general transcription standards, practices, and formatting guidelines.
• Capability to consistently adhere to detailed policies and procedures, while also maintaining organized billing and other records.
• Ability to type at a speed of 65 Words Per Minute (WPM) or faster.
• Experience in transcribing legal proceedings and interviews.
• Familiarity with For The Record (FTR) and/or VIQ RC Player.
• Proficiency in one or more languages in addition to English.
• Willingness to occasionally perform transcription in person at a customer site when required.
