This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Examine electronic medical records and perform quality control on each record

• Ensure records adhere to HIPAA regulations

• Address questions and concerns to the Lead/Supervisor

• Guide and mentor new team members

• Safeguard the privacy of patient, employee, and volunteer information on a need-to-know basis

• Abide by corporate integrity and security responsibilities

• Report any unethical, fraudulent, or illegal conduct or activities

• Understand and comply with information governance policies, procedures, and processes

• Engage in discussions about process inquiries and suggestions to support standardized work

• Take part in mandatory corporate compliance and role-specific training

• At least 6 months of prior experience in a medical records environment

• Must successfully complete an industry-related course and examination within six months of employment

• Maintain current and annual HIPAA certification

• Ability to verify electronic records for HIPAA compliance and adherence to request and authorization limits

• Capability to assess whether medical records can be legally disclosed under HIPAA standards

• Comply with state and federal laws regarding the Release of Information (ROI)

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent time management abilities

• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, production-focused setting

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team

• High levels of reliability and productivity

• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Outlook and other Windows-based software

• Outstanding communication skills

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

• Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 lbs.

• Manual dexterity and strength for typing, writing, and managing paperwork

• Adequate vision to read documents and view computer screens

• Sufficient hearing and speaking ability to communicate effectively
