Quality Assurance Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee multiple agile teams in the implementation and management of Availity’s quality processes.

• Spearhead quality planning at the program level.

• Manage staffing allocations, provide coaching, and assess team performance.

• Supervise test planning and execution activities.

• Foster collaboration and communication across organizations to achieve quality-focused outcomes.

• Cultivate the development of team members while delivering top-tier quality program outputs.

• Lead test automation projects and leverage AI to enhance organizational and individual productivity.

• Take ownership of product quality and team progression.

• Analyze test results, prepare change requests, and produce metrics on product quality.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers/owners, and system analysts on test planning, automation, execution, and product validation.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide mentorship to team members.

• Act as an escalation point for QA analysts and engineers.

• Approve PTO requests and support recruitment and onboarding processes.

• Gather data for the Quality Organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in business and/or systems testing.

• More than 3 years of experience leading technical engineering initiatives that involve the implementation and management of IT systems.

• At least 5 years of experience leading teams and delivering products within an Agile framework, including managing high-performing lead-level roles.

• Previous experience as a QA Supervisor/Manager is essential.

• In-depth knowledge of functional, integration, performance, and regression testing methodologies.

• Demonstrated success in defining quality strategies, standards, and governance across multiple teams.

• Experience in making hiring decisions, managing performance, and facilitating career development for QA analysts/engineers.

• Familiarity with strategic resourcing, headcount, and capacity planning across various teams.

• Proficient in the administration of test management and automated testing tools.

• Experience in cross-functional leadership and influencing others.

• Strong organizational skills, project tracking capabilities, prioritization, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proven track record of contributing to a culture of recognition and accountability.

• Proficient in reading and writing JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar automation programming languages.

• Hands-on experience with Cucumber and Selenium WebDriver automation code.

• Familiarity with IDEs such as VS Code or Eclipse.

• Experience with JIRA or similar Agile work planning tools.

• Knowledge of GitLab, Git, or other Git-based version control systems.

• Familiarity with TestRail or similar test management software.

• Experience with GitLab CI or comparable continuous integration tools.

• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like New Relic, Splunk, or similar.

• Experience with SQL/MySQL for database validation.

• Understanding of AWS, Azure, cloud environments, deployment processes, and cloud-hosted architectures.

• Ability to analyze test failures, logs, stack traces, and CI pipeline outputs to identify root causes.

• Experience utilizing AI-assisted developer tools for test scenarios, automation scaffolding, refactoring, debugging, and code reviews, with human verification.

• Capability to create lightweight AI-enabled scripts, helpers, and utilities.

• Ability to mentor others in the practical, validated, and safe usage of AI.

• Proficient in using AI for summarizing meetings, objectives, test logs, and code failures while validating outputs.

• Experience in the healthcare industry is advantageous.

• Must successfully pass a drug test prior to starting employment.

• Must have the legal right to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available.

• Must be capable of using a camera for all virtual meetings.
