This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deployment to Antarctica is mandatory and may last between 8 to 16 weeks based on requirements.
• Conduct field quality inspections and surveillances of construction, maintenance, and project activities in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, ITPs, contract stipulations, and relevant codes or standards.
• Analyze and interpret construction plans, prints, technical specifications, schedules, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and design modifications to confirm work readiness, acceptance criteria, and compliance.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of ITPs, inspection checklists, hold points, witness points, testing requirements, and objective evidence necessary for the release, turnover, or acceptance of work.
• Perform preparatory, initial, and follow-up quality checks for definable work features; record deficiencies, completion status, inspection outcomes, and necessary follow-up actions.
• Participate in risk-informed audits, field evaluations, site walkdowns, interviews, and fact-finding reviews to assess quality control effectiveness, project execution risks, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Identify, document, and assist in resolving quality issues, nonconforming work, punch-list items, lessons learned, and suggested corrective or preventive measures in line with program processes.
• Collaborate with project management, construction management, engineering, safety teams, subcontractors, and on-ice personnel to address quality concerns, minimize rework, and maintain accurate records of decisions and verification efforts.
• Aid in the close-out, turnover, commissioning, and certification processes by ensuring all required inspections, tests, material records, as-built information, and acceptance documentation are thorough and traceable.
• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, quality management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of three years of experience in construction QA/QC, project engineering, field engineering, construction management, inspection, or a similar construction-related role.
• Proven ability to read and comprehend construction drawings, schedules, specifications, submittals, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with construction QA/QC practices, inspection and testing processes, nonconformance management, corrective actions, and quality record control.
• Capability to independently prioritize assigned quality tasks, conduct field walkdowns, document objective evidence, and effectively communicate findings both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work efficiently with multidisciplinary teams in remote, industrial, or active construction settings while adhering to safety, environmental, health, and waste management regulations.
• Must successfully complete all required pre-employment, deployment, medical, dental, background checks, access, and training prerequisites for Antarctic deployment and contract execution.
