Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement QA strategies, test plans, and test cases for hardware products, embedded software, and interconnected systems.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing on 1VALET Entry systems and associated hardware.

• Validate hardware integrations, including smart locks, thermostats, access readers, sensors, and various IoT devices.

• Engage in new hardware bring-up and validation processes.

• Test embedded firmware, device software, mobile applications, and backend services as part of an integrated system.

• Ensure quality across a variety of device types, screen sizes, hardware revisions, and firmware versions.

• Collaborate with software engineers to replicate, isolate, and verify solutions for defects.

• Liaise closely with CX and Operations teams to investigate and resolve issues reported from the field.

• Reproduce customer issues in the lab using actual hardware and production-like environments.

• Conduct root cause analysis and provide actionable insights to engineering and product teams.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of testing methodologies, documentation, and overall release quality.

• Track defects, test outcomes, and quality metrics; clearly communicate risks and readiness for release.

• Champion quality throughout the product lifecycle, from design to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong emphasis on hardware-software systems.

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, real-world issues involving hardware, software, and networks.

• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.

• Comfortable working onsite with physical devices and laboratory equipment.
