This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute and/or carry out quality control reviews for end-to-end AML investigations across cases of varying complexities.
• Examine investigations related to potential money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions violations, and other financial crime risks.
• Evaluate whether the conclusions of investigations are substantiated by adequate evidence and adhere to regulatory and internal standards.
• Assess if investigators have suitably applied reasonable grounds to suspect (RGS).
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of customer relationships along with relevant risk factors.
• Review investigative narratives, supporting documents, disposition decisions, and SAR recommendations.
• Detect investigative gaps, process shortcomings, recurring mistakes, and quality trends, and provide constructive feedback.
• Utilize AML case management and transaction monitoring systems to document, manage, review, and resolve cases.
• Draft and/or assess SARs in compliance with regulatory mandates and internal policies.
• Analyze transactional, customer, and behavioral data to uncover suspicious activities and emerging financial crime trends.
• Collaborate with investigators, compliance teams, and other stakeholders to enhance investigative quality and uniformity.
• Assist in improving AML investigative procedures, quality benchmarks, and controls.
• Ensure that investigations and quality control reviews conform to AML policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
• Proven AML Quality Control (QC) / Financial Crime professional.
• Deep understanding of AML regulations, financial crime typologies, red flags, and related risks.
• Practical experience conducting quality control reviews of AML investigations.
• Proficient with at least one AML case management or transaction monitoring system, such as Actimize, Oracle, SAS, Verafin, or similar tools.
• Strong familiarity with AML compliance frameworks, regulatory obligations, and investigative standards.
• Demonstrated background in drafting, reviewing, and/or submitting Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
• Capability to analyze complex transactional and behavioral data.
• Strong understanding of customer and account risk factors, including sanctions, fraud, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, and insider threats.
