QA Tester, Functional, Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement testing plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure software products' functionality and quality.

• Identify, document, and track software defects and issues, collaborating closely with developers to resolve them.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and design test cases accordingly.

• Conduct functional testing to verify that the software meets specified requirements and operates as expected.

• Perform regression testing to ensure that software changes and enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionality.

• Participate in the design and implementation of automated testing frameworks and tools.

• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and quality assurance.

• Provide timely and accurate reports on testing progress, test coverage, and defect metrics to project stakeholders.

• Work with project managers and other team members to prioritize and manage testing efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of experience as a Functional QA Tester or in a similar role.

• Focus on **service testing (APIs)**.

• Validation of request/response, status codes, and JSON/XML structures.

• Proficient use of **Postman** including collection creation.

• Knowledge of environments management.

• Conduct validations (assertions).

• Execute functional, integration, and end-to-end tests (at the service level).

• Database management: **Microsoft SQL Server**, **Oracle Database**.

• Data validation through queries (SELECT, JOIN, filters).

• Familiarity with management tools: **Jira**, **Xray**.

• Experience working under Agile methodology.

• Desirable:

• Experience in the banking or fintech sector.

• Proficient in version control with **Git**.

• Knowledge in test automation (especially APIs).

• Understanding of performance and security testing.

• Experience in writing cases in Gherkin (BDD).

• **ISTQB** certification.
