QA Manager – Enterprise Technology and AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the QA strategy for Business Applications, ensuring accountability for functional quality, automation quality, release confidence, and defect prevention across the application portfolio.

• Create and enhance a quality engineering practice that supports enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Zuora, and related systems and integrations essential for core business operations.

• Implement robust functional testing practices for comprehensive business processes, which include configuration validation, workflow testing, role-based access validation, integration testing, and data reconciliation across systems.

• Direct the design and growth of automation testing frameworks along with reusable automated test assets for UI, API, integration, and regression test coverage.

• Collaborate with Business Applications, PMO, AI & Automation, and business stakeholders to integrate quality earlier in the delivery lifecycle and establish clear release-readiness criteria for projects, enhancements, and production modifications.

• Manage QA planning and execution for intricate cross-functional processes involving CRM, Billing, and Support systems, along with supporting data flows that affect business continuity and customer outcomes.

• Monitor and communicate quality metrics such as test coverage, test gaps, defect leakage, automation effectiveness, release quality, and team productivity, utilizing these insights to foster continuous improvement.

• Define and execute an AI-driven QA methodology, which includes opportunities for AI-assisted test design, regression impact analysis, defect summarization, log analysis, evidence generation, and test optimization.

• Assess and operationalize AI capabilities using both GitLab-native and external AI tools to enhance quality, speed, and insight while upholding governance, traceability, and trust.

• Establish a documentation-first QA operating model that includes clear test plans, defect reports, traceability, release documentation, and asynchronous communication practices across global teams.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop QA engineers and automation engineers, while establishing clear standards for execution, accountability, collaboration, and career advancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive and demonstrated experience leading QA, quality engineering, or test engineering teams that support Enterprise Business applications at scale.

• At least 2 years of experience managing or leading technical teams, with a proven record of coaching, providing actionable feedback, and fostering the growth of team members.

• Strong hands-on and leadership experience in functional and automation testing for business applications, including Salesforce, Zuora, and Zendesk systems.

• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end business process testing across integrated enterprise applications, including validation of upstream and downstream dependencies.

• Experience in designing and scaling automated testing approaches across UI, API, workflow, integration, and data validation layers.

• Proven ability to define quality metrics, identify testing gaps, and leverage data to enhance release quality, team performance, and process maturity.

• Experience collaborating with business systems teams, program managers, and business stakeholders in dynamic environments.

• Strong people management skills, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and leading distributed teams.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience assessing or implementing AI-enabled QA practices in a practical and governed manner that enhances testing effectiveness without compromising control or auditability.

• Background in building or modernizing QA capabilities within Enterprise Applications or Business Systems organizations.
