QA Engineer – Portal, BI, Data & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Assist in ensuring the quality, precision, and dependability of web portals, BI dashboards, surveys, and data pipelines.

• Conduct functionality tests on web portals developed with Blazor, Bootstrap, and SSO authentication.

• Validate login and logout sequences, session timeouts, token refresh processes, role-based access, and access restriction scenarios.

• Review UI/UX consistency across both desktop and tablet views, focusing on forms, modals, validations, and error messages.

• Test request forms, multi-step workflows, conditional fields, file uploads, backend submissions, and confirmation messages.

• Validate dashboard widgets, KPI cards, data grids, filters, date pickers, and the functionality of CSV/PDF exports.

• Test BI dashboards to confirm that charts, tables, filters, drill-downs, tooltips, and exports present accurate data.

• Verify the performance of dashboards, particularly when dealing with large datasets or intricate visualizations.

• Test survey flows, question types, validation rules, submission logic, confirmation pages, and email invitation links.

• Write and execute SQL queries to validate row counts, aggregates, joins, data freshness, and data integrity.

• Compare data across various sources such as SQL databases, Excel files, CSV exports, and dashboard outputs.

• Validate ETL and data pipeline processes to confirm that information is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded.

• Conduct cross-system testing to ensure that portal actions, survey submissions, dashboards, and access permissions function seamlessly together.

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, PM, and development team to identify, document, and follow up on defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of QA experience testing web applications.

• At least 2 years of experience in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation purposes.

• More than 1 year of experience testing BI dashboards such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or custom dashboards.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience testing login, authentication, authorization, or SSO flows.

• Proficiency with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for UI testing.

• Familiarity with tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Bruno.

• Ability to compare and validate data from multiple sources, including SQL results, CSV files, Excel files, and dashboard exports.

• Knowledge of tools such as JMeter or k6 for testing dashboard or application load times.

• Comfortable utilizing Browser DevTools, including the Network tab, console logs, and local storage inspection.
