QA Engineer – Portal, BI, Data & Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Assist in maintaining the quality, precision, and dependability of web portals, BI dashboards, surveys, and data pipelines.

• Test the functionality of web portals developed using Blazor, Bootstrap, and SSO authentication.

• Validate processes for login/logout, session timeouts, token refresh, role-based access, and access restriction scenarios.

• Review UI/UX consistency across desktop and tablet interfaces, focusing on forms, modals, validations, and error messages.

• Test request forms, multi-step workflows, conditional fields, file uploads, backend submissions, and confirmation messages.

• Validate dashboard widgets, KPI cards, data grids, filters, date pickers, and CSV/PDF export capabilities.

• Test BI dashboards to confirm that charts, tables, filters, drill-downs, tooltips, and exports reflect accurate data.

• Verify the performance of dashboards, particularly when handling large datasets or complex visualizations.

• Test survey flows, various question types, validation rules, submission logic, confirmation pages, and email invitation links.

• Write and execute SQL queries to ensure row counts, aggregates, joins, data freshness, and integrity are correct.

• Compare data across different sources, including SQL databases, Excel files, CSV exports, and dashboard outputs.

• Validate ETL and data pipeline operations to ensure proper extraction, transformation, and loading of information.

• Conduct cross-system testing to confirm that portal actions, survey submissions, dashboards, and access permissions function together correctly.

• Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager, PM, and development team to identify, document, and address defects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of QA experience in testing web applications.

• SQL: At least 2 years of experience in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.

• BI Testing: More than 1 year of experience testing BI dashboards like Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or custom dashboards.

• Authentication Testing: At least 1 year of experience in testing login, authentication, authorization, or SSO flows.

• Automation: Familiarity with Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress for UI testing.

• API Testing: Experience with tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or Bruno.

• Data Validation: Capability to compare and validate data across various sources, including SQL results, CSV files, Excel files, and dashboard exports.

• Performance Testing: Understanding of tools such as JMeter or k6 for testing dashboard or application load times.

• Debugging: Proficient in using Browser DevTools, including the Network tab, console logs, and local storage inspection.

• Nice to Have: Experience in testing applications built with Blazor or Bootstrap.

• Practical experience with Selenium or Playwright.

• Experience in validating ETL processes or reporting databases.

• Familiarity with role-based access, claims, permissions, or SSO token debugging.
