This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• The QA Engineer is responsible for conducting both manual and automated testing by developing scripts and creating automation scenarios for repetitive execution.
• The QA Engineer will utilize various automation tools to design, test, and implement efficient test automation solutions.
• Collaborates with the Agile Program Manager (APM), Digital Product Manager (DPM), and Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to document and strategize test cases for regression, integration, and automation test plans.
• Develops test automation scripts using programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, etc.
• Troubleshoots existing automation scripts and enhances the automation framework for better performance.
• Provides support for functional validation and sprint activities.
• Maintains communication with development teams, other product teams, and management to ensure comprehensive test coverage of both existing and new features.
• Enhances an existing framework to create and execute automated test plans against developed features.
• Identifies and reports defects, collaborating with the team to resolve issues.
• Focuses on continuous improvement of the automation framework and workflow processes, ensuring solutions remain current with the latest technologies.
• Leads scrum test teams by setting an example—promoting collaboration, contribution, and commitment to the shared goals of the team.
• Mentors junior team members on current trends in automation.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts such as Inheritance, Abstraction, Encapsulation, and Polymorphism.
• Strong expertise and practical experience in both automation and manual testing frameworks.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with API/Microservices/Integration testing using tools like Postman or similar, along with API documentation skills.
• Proficient in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver with Java, TestNG, JUnit, Maven, Cucumber, Jenkins, and Git/BitBucket for testing client-side and web-based applications.
• Familiarity with developing test scripts to implement features, test scenarios, and step definitions for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber/Spock Framework.
• Hands-on experience across all testing levels, including Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Good knowledge of build management tools such as Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, and ANSIBLE.
• Ability to utilize Xray for test management and execution within JIRA.
• Experience with cloud repositories like Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab is preferred.
• Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity.
• Proven experience working with Agile teams (both Engineering and Business) to actively collaborate with team members in defining test plans, executing them, and reporting on outcomes.
• Comprehensive understanding of the Testing Life Cycle, including Test Design, Test Case Development, Functional Testing, Defect Management, and Test Reporting.
• 5 to 12 years of experience in Testing, SDET, or Development roles (a mix of experiences is preferred).
• Candidates with prior development experience and knowledge will have an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of insurance is considered a plus.
