QA Engineer – Automation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• You will be tasked with developing and maintaining automated tests for a photo-editing desktop application that utilizes advanced image processing algorithms and AI models.

• Your main focus will involve automating testing workflows for the core functionalities of the engine, which encompass machine learning-driven processing and algorithmic image transformations.

• Conduct thorough exploratory and manual testing of a customized machine learning solution aimed at photo-editing.

• Create and sustain automated tests for the primary image processing engine using a Python-based framework.

• Analyze and validate core engine functionalities, image processing algorithms, and technical components.

• Engage in regression testing for the desktop application interface across both macOS and Windows platforms.

• Design and implement a test strategy to automate the coverage of algorithmic image processing.

• Collect and assess QA/test metrics, providing regular updates to the QA Manager.

• Work with the Customer Support Team to replicate and investigate issues reported by users.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, test plans, and reports on automation coverage.

• Take part in testing and validating product customizations and proof-of-concept features.

• Contribute to the Agile delivery process in close collaboration with development, design, and product teams.

• Enhance technical proficiency in Python, SQL/SQLite, CI (Jenkins), Git, and system-level debugging for both macOS and Windows environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Relevant experience in manual testing for backend and/or frontend applications.

• Practical experience in creating and maintaining test documentation such as test cases, checklists, and release notes.

• Experience or a strong interest in test automation, ideally for core systems or components that are heavy on algorithms.

• Solid proficiency in Python for automation scripting.

• A good understanding of image processing concepts is advantageous.

• Excellent analytical and mathematical abilities.

• Quick learner with a proactive mindset and a strong sense of responsibility.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

• Proficient in reading and writing technical documentation in English.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a high degree of diligence.

• Intermediate or higher level of English proficiency (both spoken and written).

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
