QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Ensure the dependability and quality of our fintech products by testing REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs, in addition to web and mobile applications.

• Create and sustain automated tests, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and promote continuous enhancements to deliver secure, high-performing solutions.

• Formulate, uphold, and implement detailed test plans and test cases for intricate fintech platforms that involve APIs, web, and mobile applications.

• Conduct functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across REST, GraphQL, and gRPC APIs to guarantee secure and reliable data management.

• Identify, document, and monitor defects and issues, ensuring a swift resolution and effective communication across teams.

• Integrate and manage test execution within CI/CD pipelines to facilitate continuous delivery.

• Engage in test strategy, code reviews, and test design reviews to maintain optimal testability and quality assurance standards.

• Contribute to the improvement of QA processes, test data management, and tracking of quality metrics.

• Keep abreast of emerging QA tools, fintech regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and system robustness.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software quality assurance, encompassing both manual and automation testing.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies, test design techniques, and QA best practices.

• Demonstrated experience in testing APIs (REST is essential; GraphQL and gRPC are advantageous)—preferably within a fintech or data-sensitive environment.

• Robust automation experience—capable of extending and maintaining automation frameworks.

• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (TypeScript is preferred; JavaScript, Python, or others are acceptable).

• Practical experience with automation frameworks such as Cucumber, Playwright, Cypress, or Postman.

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

• Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on data accuracy and system reliability.

• Fluent in English with excellent documentation and cross-team coordination abilities.

• Nice to have: Experience in testing native mobile applications (Android/iOS).

• Understanding of fintech products, payment systems, banking APIs, or data security/compliance standards.

• Familiarity with performance, security, or load testing tools and principles.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
