QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement testing strategies that encompass manual, automation, API, and database validation.

• Create, build, and sustain automation frameworks utilizing JavaScript/TypeScript and Playwright.

• Conduct end-to-end, regression, and exploratory testing on both web and mobile platforms.

• Spearhead mobile testing initiatives (both manual and automated) utilizing Appium.

• Assess APIs (both manual and automated) to ensure the integrity of backend data.

• Execute database validation using PostgreSQL and SQL.

• Incorporate automated tests into CI/CD workflows through GitHub Actions.

• Carry out cross-browser and cross-device testing across platforms such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Android, and iOS.

• Work collaboratively with developers and product teams to uphold quality throughout the development lifecycle.

• Monitor defects, manage test cases, and keep documentation updated in Jira / Zephyr.

• Oversee test execution and reporting using tools like ReportPortal.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in both manual and automated testing for web and mobile applications.

• Practical knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript-based automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright).

• Proficient in mobile automation using Appium.

• Thorough understanding of API testing and backend validation utilizing tools like Axios.

• Strong SQL expertise with experience in validating data in PostgreSQL or equivalent databases.

• Familiarity with integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).

• Knowledge of cross-browser and cross-device testing tools (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

• Experience with testing modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React).

• Strong grasp of test case design, regression planning, and defect management.

• Capability to work collaboratively and promote quality across teams.
